Uncle Sam got all the hard core camping out of my system. There's no sense in us NOT taking advantage of the ammenities.

    We got satellite tv too!

    Some cabins have hot tubs.

We do have to bring our own blankets though. Is that roughing it?

Lots of smaller cabins are available for the current weekend. I'm sure the lady would prefer this.

Being months away from now, a lot can change, though.

Still like being away from people who aren't doing what we'll be doing. Hell, I just like being away from people lol!

99% of the people there want the same privacy. No one seemed to bother anyone else.

Just hard for me to stomach $300 for a weekend that ONLY covers where I'll spend the least time.

Where you stayin' that'll cost $300.

    We're spending $160.

And can still pass out face down in the campground if that looks like a good time

I also have to think about my fur child, Polly. No way am I gonna romp in the woods without her!
So if I can't get something pet friendly, I'll pitch a tent.

Cabins are mostly pet friendly. All you gotta do is call 'em and ask, then listen to a prepared speech about not letting then destroy the cabin. We're debating taking one of our dawgs.

cabin 2 is $90 / night, (+$15 cleaning fee, + taxes) and has 4 sets of bunk beds. we will split it and it will be cheap. even if we only have 6 in beds, that would be $55 for the 3 nights each person.

We grabbed up cabin #10. It is the farthest from the main road, sort of overlooking the main camp ground. It is at the end of a dead end road. Hoping THAT spells lower activity/noise. It's rated to "sleep 7" by using a sleeper sofa. It's PERFECT for 3 or 4. We may have our 11 year old grandson. Probably just me and Sandy. With tax, cleaning fee, etc, still under $100 per night. We have electric (phone chargers! Camera charger, etc..) We have heat/AC. We have shower. We have TV. We have a mini kitchen. And we're about 2 minutes from where everyone will be camping. In stead of walking to our tent, we take a short drive to the cabin. Now I don't have to drag the camper close to 400 miles round trip.

Like I said earlier, I've had my share of sleeping in the mud. If that's the best we could do, no big deal, but with these cabins being so easy, close, and convenient, why NOT? My fun will be from being there for the weekend, not all predicated on seeing how stinky we can get in 3 days.

JMHO, YMMV. And if you enjoy sleeping in the tree's, have fun with that. I'm not telling anyone how they should enjoy their time, just explaining why a few of us are taking advantage of an opportunity that doesn't present itself at every off road venue we'll show up at.
