My Kenwood single DIN seems to be on the way out..it happens.

Don't need nav or a backup camera, so I'm reckoning single DIN is teh easy way.

For a Pioneer (which I've had in the past and liked), what's a good model? I have 2 amps and 6 speakers going.

    Won't be doing MP3's either.

DEH-80prs, since you have amps and don't need deck power. It's old and doesn't play FLAC, and it's due to be refreshed soon. There are few devices that can match the SQ of this deck for the money

Nothing can touch it for the coin...time alignment, 16 band separate left/right graphic EQ, 24 bit Burr Brown D/A converters for each set of channels (3 in all), network mode for active crossovers...I think that's the big stuff. That said, most of Pioneer's new head units offer network mode. The difference with the 80PRS is the DA converters and L/R EQ. Oh, and even all the way up the 80PRS is dead silent - introduces zero noise. Of course it has all sorts of other cool features, but those above set it apart.

I only have one major complaint, but it's noteworthy - no mute or pause button on the face. It's not a deal-breaker as I still use mine every day, but it's a major complaint. It has both on the remote, but not the face. Still though - all things considered, the only way you're beating this in the single DIN category is with a P99. And AFAIK, there are precisely zero double DIN head units out there that will do what the 80PRS will. You really can't go wrong with it - especially with a street price of around $250.
