So I was sitting around not doing shit for 3 weeks while my new job started, truck searched but didn't find shit when I had the time to travel far for it. Today I find the Tacoma TRD Off-Road I want at the price I want but 18 hours from here(unfuckingbelievable:rolleyes:). There is nothing nearby, everyone here wants at the very least $28k for these trucks, as high as $33k when mileage is under 30,000. On a side note, I decided I don't want a new one.

Carfax checks out. The truck looks like new in the pics and has a few extras. I'm seriously considering buying this thing and having it shipped.

Has anyone here purchased a used Tacoma and had it shipped to their place without first seeing it person?

What protections do we have(if any) if we receive a lemon truck? Transmission is dead or engine dies a few days after driving. I'm afraid of receiving a shit truck, not being able to do anything about it and being in the hole for more than twenty something thousand.

For those wondering, this is a used car dealership not a factory Toyota Dealership

    Thoughts?

Can they send you a video of them walking out to the truck and them taking it for a test drive and a video inspection. In 2017 we shouldn't have to do anything blind. If they want sell. You can ask for specific inspection videos. For frame rust and the like. Have them take wheelast off and video the brakes etc. If they want to sell it they will help. You can face time or video chat with them over any phone now, can't we.

Edit... maybe even a forum member in the area of where the truck is could take a look at it for you. Just a thought. Ask for help in the regional thread the truck is being sold in.

Being a used car dealer, any warranty/guarantee beyond factory transferable warranty is up to them. Be sure to get EVERYTHING in writing including any warranty/guarantee and how it will be handled if the vehicle needs work. They may authorize it to be taken to a local shop, they may want it brought back to "their guy".
You also need to look into the lemon laws and how they will apply in the state you are in and the state the dealer is in. Don't forget to check on how the vehicle taxes will be handled, that way you can try to avoid multiple states dipping into your pocket. Also factor in cost of shipping. In 2009 it cost me a grand to get a car shipped from OR to NC, then in 2012 it cost about a grand to ship from OR to AZ.
