Does anyone think that the bump steer on the 2017 Sport seem excessive? At highway speeds with no loads in the bed and only myself in the double cab, a minor bump or small pothole can cause what I consider excessive bump steer. This has caused my truck to shift track significantly. Is anyone else having these issues? Tire inflation is correct and I have less than 6K miles. I realize a sport suspension is stiff but are there suspension options that would make it more drivable and sporty?

Please be kind and constructive in your responses as I am new to the whole forum world but not new to Tacomas. I previously owned a 1998 Tacoma for many years without this issue.

The "stiffness" has nothing to do with bump steer. Bump steer is caused by the physical geometry of the suspension, not the stiffness of springs and dampers.

I would say get your alignment checked, IIRC dealer should do that for free since you just purchased. If it's tweaked a little, you will feel some strange behavior.

It's also possible you are not feeling what is properly referred to as bump steer. Meaning, you just are not used to the stiffer ride characteristics of the Sport Package yet.

Your sport trim suspension is the "sportiest" option that I know of, everything else gets more compliant for off-road, which increases body roll.

Better coilovers like 6112s would improve the handling on and off road. Check my signature links below to my write up it. It's one option.
