3" Lift On Stock 16" Wheels

I've been a lurker since I bought my truck in Dec 2016. So, hi!

Bought the Rough Country 3" Lift and installed it in the driveway this past weekend. The instructions were off... quite a bit! Instead of the 2-4 hours it said, it took about 18 hours to complete.... (Don't ask!)

Anyway, I wanted to share a couple pictures of it lifted on the stock 16" wheels.

I've got the new wheels setting in the livingroom and my Nitto Trail Grapplers should be in tomorrow, so I'll have pictures probably next week.

 

Not sure what size tires your going with, but it will look so much better with bigger tires

 

I'm going with 265/70/17s as opposed to the stock 245/75/16s... The wheels are -12 offset, so with the tire and wheel combo I have, the tire's outer sidewall should poke out about 1.35 inches further from what they do now.

The new tires are about 1.1" bigger in diameter than the original ones. I wanted to see how my gas mileage is effected, but next time I'll probably go with 285s...

 

i'm assuming u used a diff drop kit since u went with a 3" lift and have a 4x4?

just wondering?

 

So the kit came with strut extensions that go on top of the strut assembly, and differential spacers for the front. For the rear, 2" blocks that go under the leaf springs.
