Tire Size with 3in Lift

Good Morning! Just joined site although have used this site as a go to over the years. I know its been discussed quite a bit and I have searched and searched every site/forum I could find over the past few days and have yet to find a definitive answer. 2017 Offroad stock wheels, putting a 3 in lift on this week, haven't ordered tires due to the rubbing issues I keep reading about. Wanting to go with 285/75/16 and can handle minimal rubbing at full lock or in reverse (no big deal to me wifes 4runner has been this way for 3 years without issue). have ran 255/85's on 04 a few times but was really wanting some KO2's rather than MT's due to the amount of highway driving. Just cant stomach putting tires that are not much taller than factory; especially with a lift... Any help would be greatly appreciated!
