I looked at toppers for my Mt Shasta and all of them were way short. Ended up buying another mattress from CVT. The problem is that it can't close the tent with 2 mattresses, so I have to transport it separately and then do the whole song and dance with having to put the mattress in when setting up, then remove it when breaking down and then have to shove it into the back of the truck to transport it back home

Good to know, I may open up the tent with Amazon up and measure some things. I was looking at two full size toppers and they would fit the footprint and would split down the middle so folding would be ok.

Well, I ordered a RTT from tuff stuff on Friday. Reviews I've seen are pretty solid and I just couldn't find a better deal for one with the annex, awning, and lighting package. Getting close to Utah trip in July. Once it comes in, will be building a bed rack for it then installing sliders. I'll post up when it arrives...

Amazing first time out in our Tepui Kukenam. My girlfriend, me and our Vizsla headed out to Scenic State Park in the Chippewa National Forest in Minnesota for the weekend. We had steady rain for 4 hours this morning and stayed completely dry inside. Tent went together easily and dried out incredibly fast when we set it up when we got home. Can't wait to have more days in it. IMG_2521.jpg IMG_2520.jpg

Off Sunrise Hwy/Mt Laguna this weekend. Really liking the tent on the trailer, 110% better than on the cap.

I have what is now called the Rainier extended stargazer. The mattress that came with my tent is looking pretty rough so I'm looking at 3" mattress toppers to replace the existing foam mattress. Someone earlier in this thread mentioned that it was handy to cut the mattress topper in half where the tent folds. I'm taking that into consideration because I was initially looking at at single + double which would cover the most surface area but wouldn't fold in the middle. Now I'm leaning towards a california king that I can cut in the middle if it helps close the tent. It leaves me about 6" short on both sides but I think it's my best option. The Rainier extended tent sleeping area is 72"x 96".

I guess my two lingering concerns are:
    1. Am I leaving too much short by purchasing the california king?
    2. Will 3" memory foam be enough to sleep comfortably?

Question about Tepui tents. Have they changed much over the last 3 years? I have an opportunity to maybe buy a friend's Tepui Autana, but its 3 years old. Anything I should be aware of? He has kept it in good condition and took good care of it.

So - I think my question got posted right to your picture as I had clicked it to zoom in. Just curious about how the lid on the trailer works while your tent is up there? This looks like a sweet setup!
