    Hey guys,
Hopefully this is in the right thread, if not please tell me where to move it and how.
I need to get this piece out of my old clamshell and into the new diff. Anybody have experience, instructions, or a manual for this? Thanks in advance

Wow, looks like ECGS ****ed me. No way the new one wasn't supposed to come with that if it takes that much just to pull it. I tried a regular puller but there isn't much of a lip to grab in there, must be a specialty tool. Do you have the reassembly page? Thanks for the quick response!

May be different, but on my 2nd gen, I tapped it out with a punch from the other side.

Tap it out with a small punch from the other side, like so:

Ill have to give that a shot, I tried it with a screwdriver and couldn't catch the lip but a punch might do it. Thanks!

Son of a bitch, a few light taps was all it took. Man I've been searching the internet and trying pulling methods since 2 o clock. Can't thank you enough brother.

According to some of the posts above it is the same in a 2nd gen.
That is a good question, so yours came with that gear showing in the first pic in your new clamshell? And you didn't send in your old one to them first you waited for their replacement to come right?

Mine came ready to on my second gen. I send the original back only after I installed the new one (I had to swap the mounts and the Diff tube over). But yes the gear was already installed

Yeah I figured mine should have come like that, they must have forgot to put it in. They also forgot to send my axle seals and free ARB compressor at first, then I had to call to get them sent. I also never got any kind of receipt or order confirmation after ordering (I ordered over the phone).

The punch method works. I also watched the tech at ECGS remove my old one with two small pry bars. Glad to see you got it out.

My two different orders for front clamshells needed to have the stub shaft swapped over.
