    Are you mounting over the wheel well passenger side? I'm trying to find a spot under the hood that isn't that corner, as I want to put a second battery there.

    Yes indeed I am. So on the 3rd gen, you can put 2 optima batteries in the factory location which is what I will do if I go that route. The more likely route for me will be buying 1 of those 31 agm batteries. For my application, I think it should work.

    Dang. I'm leaning split battery system. I'm researching something new that I am liking better than the Blue Sea ACR and could mean I don't need to lose my stock battery.

    I'm basically looking at a CTEK DC-DC charger. It acts as a relay, but it ups the charge to 14.8 volts so you get a full charge on your secondary battery. It isolates the two batteries so you still get the benefits of the ACR, but since each battery is charged separately, you don't need to have them be the same size/type. (This is my assumption, anyway and what I'm researching.) If the alternator doesn't put out the full 14.8 bolts, you'll only get 85% charge or so on the second battery, this system allows 100%. The only downside I've seen is that there is no manual override for the self-jump feature like the Blue Sea, but we all carry jumper cables anyway, right? :)
