I've had my GoPro for a couple of years and it's great to record mountain biking excursions and and other fun things. Now that i'm getting serious into off-roading the Taco I want to know where to mount it and how to use it on my off-roading trips. I don't ant to mess with the camera very much on the trail because I feel like I would get distracted with trying to get every shot and it would take away for the experience.

so how do y'all set up your camera's to capture all the action? What mounts do you use and where?

I only have one GoPro so i dont mind switching the angles up a few time on a trip.

    Thanks :D

Too many to list, and I've probably forgotten a bunch.
Not wanting to destroy a $300+ camera, I bought a cheap-ass knockoff from GearBest - the F40B. I mounted it in my Aluminess front bumper, and ran power to it from the underhood Blue Sea (Blue Sea -> 12VDC USB jack in a housing -> USB cable to camera). The camera is in the knock-off waterproof housing, with a hole made for the power cable, and then sealed with a grommet.

I use the iPhone in the RAM mount as a remote viewer (good for approaching obstacles if you can't get out and take a look) and can record video to the camera's microSD card. If the setup gets trashed, I'm out <$50. At that price point, it's disposable, and yet the camera produces decent enough video for my purposes. For in-cab camera footage, I use my GoPro.

One interesting thing about the GearBest camera is that it runs a version of the Adroid OS, so it's quite hackable and tweakable if you have the time and desire.
