Does this make sense or does anyone else Taco have this issue, when i am engaging the brakes the fist 1/2 second the pedal feels off, once depressed a bit more it feels "normal". Im going to have the dealership look at it when I get my first oil change (about 3 weeks away). Just seeing if anyone else has noticed this or am I bonkers?

Sounds like some air in the system. Ask the dealer if they can check and if possible, bleed them.

you can warp the rotors on brand new vehicles no problem, especially heavier vehicles. Though that is most definitely not a warped rotor issue. I think the dealer will probably suggest that is just the normal take up/ travel of the pedal. the first 1/4inch or so of pedal travel is dead space depending on what type of brake system you have. Felt more on regular power booster setups

You can warp the rotors the first time you drive the vehicle. Or go the life of the vehicle without warping them.

    all tore up already
Rotors dont warp. Everyone click the myth link @Cleanwilly posted. My centric rep told me they analyzed over 10,000 defective "warped" rotors and couldnt find one that was warped. Thats a big chunk of metal. Smashing them off with a sledge doesnt bend or warp them yet you think caliper squeeze can warp them? Force isnt even going that direction. Delco and wagner reps told me the same thing: never seen a warped rotor.

Vibration from "warped" rotors can come from uneven mating surfaces between hub, rotor and wheel. Uneven lug nut torque can effect it. The way the pad material transfers to the rotor can contribute.

I challenge anyone to show me a rotor that doesnt sit flat on a flat surface AND measures evenly on both friction faces to cooling vanes.

call it warping call it uneven build up. Problem with rotors bottom line could cause these symptoms.

It's caused by the AMBS system, which stands for anti-lock marble braking system.

@brich999 who said anything about caliper squeeze warping rotors lol. Its from heat transfer. if you put a rotor on a brake lathe from a vehicle which someone has complained about a brake shimmy, you will see the wobble in the reflection and hear the wobble on the first pass/rough cut. After the rotors have been cut correctly and the wobble removed the brake shimmy goes away. but like i said this is not a rotor problem.
