While packing the truck for my beach trip last weekend, Archie figured out that we were going somewhere and was determined that he was going to go with us. Luckily for him, that was true. He sat in the truck for 30-40 minutes while we loaded it up, completely still, looking ahead, only glancing over every now and then (like I captured in the picture), like he was hoping we wouldn't see him.

Yeah, he's a mix of excited and happy. He's got some sport in him, some aggression, overall a good mix of love. He's a rescue.

(Dalmatian, Boxer and maybe Lab or similar)

Good looking dog. When I first saw him, I thought there might be some American Bulldog in the mix. That would account for the spots under the coat and the Boxer look. A good friend was breeding them for a few years. He had quality bloodlines that produced some great dogs. Sort of fell in love with the breed.

I think my dog Jake is Lab and Am. Bulldog, at least part. He has a Lab tail and build. You can really see his spots after a bath.

Hey TW doggo owners I wanted yall's opinion on what type of dog I should get. I'm in college and I'll be living in an apartment or possibly a house with a small-mid size backyard. I'm looking for something that's around the size of a small lab or just less than 60 pounds or so, but I want something bigger than a little rat. If it could be friendly towards dogs and people that'd be preferable, but not necessary. I'd be out of the house for probably 6-7 hours a day and I don't mind taking it on walks or to the park or whatever but there'll be some days I can't. Any breeds yall can think of that fit the bill? Thanks in advance!

If there will be days you can't walk a dog... I recommend getting a cat.

Fair enough, but the point still stands, if you can't walk the dog, don't get one lol

I can walk it, but if I have a test the next day I might have to skip a day every few weeks

My 11 month old black lab Judge, and my sisters little rescue dog Toby.
Had this platform built for my access cab. It was really convenient.
And its for sale/I just want to get rid of it if anyone wants it.

If you get a young puppy you can't skip 5 hours much less a whole day.

And if you dont even know where you'll be living yet I'd say now is not the right time to be getting a dog.

Nobody is trying to be mean... But dogs are a lot of responsibility and since they don't ask you to bring them home, they shouldn't be neglected after you do.

There are options if you are set on getting a dog... You could... Look into boarders when your taking finals... We board our dogs occasionally... It ranges in price but where i go is only 17 bucks per dog per night..

Or check with family... Friends... Etc...

Volunteer at an animal shelter then, because your conditions aren't favorable for dogs. I agree with the cat idea.

Get a Siamese or a Manx - they act like dogs. My grandfather had a seal point Siamese that would sit, lay down, roll over, fetch, and come when called. He could also be totally self-sufficient for 24 to 48 hours.

I suggest adopting a small/medium, low-energy adult dog from your local shelter if you have to have a dog. Maybe one that's been there a while.
