For you guys who have weekend drivers do you use a Battery Tender? Which one do you have? Is it safe to leave plugged in all the time? Thanks.

I have three battery tenders (that brand) on 2 bikes and S2000. Been going strong for years, no problems.

I have a Sears brand. It works great. Also read reviews that even the cheapest $10 trickle charger works for those that only need a slow charge for stored cars. If you want more options like jump start and the like you need to spend a bit more. Mine was on sale for $20 at the time. Came with a bunch of adapter plugs that I've made use of doing other things.

I've also got three, one is at least 30 years old and still works fine. Most recent one is called...wait for it...Battery Tender. (Deltran) Generally, these charge at ~1.25 amps and cost $25-70, so it's smart to shop around. Trickle chargers are safe to leave on, kept one on my riding mower battery all winter, no problems.

I've never used a battery tender on a car/truck but I've been running them for 15+ years on all my motorcycles. Never had a problem
