I recently got my brother inlaw's 2016 F150 remote start simply by buying a fob with the remote start button. Is there a possibility of something this simple for my brand new (to me) 2015 DCSB TRD OR?
If not what is the best one I can get that will turn on heat or AC as required?

I use a Clifford 5706x. You have to leave the AC or heat set when you leave the truck, then it goes back on when the truck starts (you can't change the settings from the remote start fob.... I assume because they aren't digital).

Probably the best thing I've bought for the truck.

Wait the F150 had remote start built in and all you had to do was buy a fob with the button to activate it and that's it? That doesn't sound right..?

It's was extremely easy, just dropped it off at the install guy's house because he's a professional and I'm not. :D Too complex for me to try to DIY.

in todays keyless ignitions makes sense to me, its probably just a programming issue.

Yeah I hear ya, but don't you think they would just offer the remote start with the key fob that came with the truck? Or would this be a marketing scheme to sell a "remote start package" when its already built in and all they need to do is program a new fob?

Guy at parts counter at dealer looked up the truck by VIN and told us it would, not sure if on all of them. Brother in law did spring for the $175 to buy the fob at the dealer. I was hoping for a solution that simple here.
If it involves wiring, I will be hot or cold. I will not touch factory wiring for a remote starter.
I bought a 2015 BMW 3 series last year, when I took delivery the dealer had me sign a paper that said if I installed a remote starter all my warranties would be voided. I had no intention of doing so, so I didn't care. At least up through 2015, BMW didn't provide remote start on any vehicle. I wonder if it is a European thing?

Same installer won't touch my wife's 335d, so def must be a euro car thing. BMWs have everything super integrated on them, prob part of the reason why.

XL model does not have it as a factory option XLT does. They make these things very standard. The electric trailer controller wiring was already there too, all we did for that was buy a controller and plug it in.
