Of course!! I'll video tape his first outing off leash there. If it's like the other times he's been off leash, he'll run FAST!

Just recently left our dog out during the day. VERY happy for her, and the results. She is a little over 3. Just like a child, can't always handle the responsibility.

And a living dog. It not only protects your house, but them from chewing or playing with something dangerous.

Now that she is out during the day, she has been great. Cat is still alive, and everything has been intact. But she is still asked to sleep in there at night when we are home, and goes VERY willingly. I'd never want a dog that didn't know what "go to bed" meant. But she gets spoiled camping, at my parents, etc, as she gets to sleep with us in bed :D

Treto [tray-toe for the 3 white toes on all 4 feet] has this habit of chewing on his rope and he just rolls over upside down and falls asleep.

    IMG_0477.jpg

Get a lot of crap [frankly mostly from women] for him still being intact. His papa was a champion in 3 states so we haven't given up on the idea of pups yet and he's only 3. It is also why he still looks like this . . . a friend got a male from the same litter, had him neutered at 8 months, and he is nearly 3 inches shorter and a chubby little toad.

    695A0414.jpg
He's a complete goofball and not remotely mean, but he does have that look, growl, and bark when he hops up on the window sill that is right by the front door that would make most think twice about just busting in . . .

Amen! I had a hound that was like that. I could let him off leash, and he would unfailingly plop down next to the hottest chick there. He got me three dates.

    *Sniff*

    I still miss that dog.

I've been researching when to fix my 6 month old lab. I've been reading the opposite. Most research I've found says that fixing them early actually messes with the hormones and keeps the growth plates open longer, making the early fixed dogs much taller and leaner than the ones who were fixed later. Who knows though. Tough to determine when to do it. I did read that you can wait too long and fixing a dog later in life is very bad for them. So you might want to ask around.

We got our lab fixed at 6 months. I've had dogs spayed in the past but this one we opted to have her get laparoscopic ovariectomy. All they did was make a tiny incision(like 7mm) and removed her ovaries and she had one stitch. She was back to normal the next day but we were told to limit activity for a week. Honestly the best extra $88 we could ever spend.

Both of our little girls were fixed that way. They tattoo them down here because you can't tell anymore if they'd been fixed - no more scar like in the old days.
