Quicksand Vinyl Wrap

Hey guys, new Taco owner here, finally took the plunge and got one. What a truck!

So I have the chrome rear bumper on the TRD OR. Looking to see what you guys use to color match it with the quicksand paint? Vinyl wrap? I saw there is a plasti dip tan that is very similar out there.

Also, where are you guys getting the black lettering for the tacoma on the tail gate?

ah paint code 4v6. I am not very good with getting rattle cans to look decent on that type stuff but i may give it a go.

If you are wanting black I would get these below because they are not paper thin like vinyl decals.

Prep is 90% of painting. Light coats and don't rush. Wet sand then clear coat and then wet sand and then polish.

Oh good i was just wondering how to tell which ones are the thick nice ones and which will peel off easy

 

Vinyl wraps is a good alternative now. durable and can always peel off

 

I have tried to look around for a vinyl that matches the quick sand with no luck. Even tried to search tool and got lost in the 215 pages of the quicksand tacoma post.

Anyone ordered quicksand vinyl that can remember where they got it?

 

I would suggest for professional advice from **********. They wrap all kinds of crazy things and lettering decals. You might also want to check Gatorprints.

 

There is no vinyl wrap "over the counter" that color (that I know of). I wrapped my last Tacoma and wanted an FDEish color bad but couldn't find it. There are print shops that will print you out custom color vinyl but it's expensive.
I would either;
1)plastidip the chrome ones
2) swap out for SR5 black ones
3) try and color match it by painting it

 

So I am wasting my time looking for a over the counter match for the quick sand?

 

I use these Tufskinz letters and they have been great. They were very easy to install and are not thin like the vinyl.

actually, I just remembered. @rrentrop sells vinyl stickers in quicksand color. maybe he would sell you a piece of the sheet.

Found his video. I'll probably get the paint and paint the bumper caps. Seems like more solid option then plasti for that particular part. I will be ordering some of that camo tan plasti for the grill emblem. ThanKS for referring me to that video
