Just be careful running extension cords each connection is a possible place for a loose connection.

Your much better off to just run a longer input cord direct to your welder.

If you can wire the extension cord you can do this .

Another proponent for a longer power cord for the welder.

Good idea running the welder off the 240 dryer plug with an extension cord.

Save money on plugs and recepticals and just eliminate the extension cord. It's not likely you can use the welder extension cord on anything else Any ways. The longer welder power cord allows you to move it around the shop or into the drive. Win.

In addition, losing a power leg on the plug is a wild experience. You will vaporize the contact tip. Too many amps on one leg just melts the tip away. It's happened to me twice. I now try to check my plug connections on a yearly basis.

    Lots of sail boat fuel

+1 for the gold. All different color and brands take a bit for your eyes to get used to. But since I burned tons of 6010 running pipe, the gold was great to me. A quality gold lens cuts down on the sulfur flare you see and makes it so that's just one less spectrum of light you need to look through.

I also know welders way better than myself who use just green. One thing I do find though is unless there is a specific need for it, most of us go back to a 2x4 fixed lens because the large ones let in too much light and can be bothering over the years.

Threw together a trailer for the drift boat project. I was getting tired of the boat bogarting my hoist. I can now move it in or out of the shop with ease.IMG_20170614_141155950.jpg IMG_20170614_150808968.jpg IMG_20170614_150855645_HDR.jpg

Unfortunately it doesn't take long for people to find out that you can fix just about anything.

My retired neighbor punctured one of the 'toons on his pontoon boat. Guess who got hit up to weld up a patch for said boat? Like I don't have enough to do as it is.

Oh, well, a case of beer is a case of beer.
