    Hi All,

First, I apologize, I didn't even think to put my truck up here for sale first before I traded it in. I should have, and I will keep that in mind for the next time.

I just traded in my 2015 Tacoma Sport on Monday to a dealer in Northwest Indiana for a 2017 Tacoma. The 2015 has 41,200 miles on it, and it was well cared for.

    -Garage kept
-No accidents, no wrecks, no damage, no repair history
    -First and only owner
-Bought it at Toyota St. Charles in St. Charles, IL
-Every service done on time at Lakeshore Toyota in Porter, IN (can print records)

There is one scratch on the drivers door from the grocery store. I didn't see who did it, just saw it when I came out, it isn't bad. There is one small ding above the rear window on the back of the cab to the right of the 3rd brakelight, thanks to a Christmas tree. Not scratched, just a little indent.

Truck is in great shape. Used it to go back and forth to work (5 miles), back and forth from the fire station (5 miles), working around the house, and family road trips. The vast majority of the miles are from highway traveling on weekend trips with the family. All over Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, D.C., etc. Was just serviced again last week at the dealer.

I gave them the original carpet floor mats in a plastic bag, they've been in the bag since the 2nd week I've had the truck because I put Weathertech liners in, which went with the truck when I traded it. There were always seat covers on it because my wife and daughter can be a bit messy, so with the floorliners and seat covers it should be spotless. The truck is wired for an Escort laser/radar detector, and has a remote switch on the steering wheel for it. I also installed a homelink/compass/temperature mirror, which I left with it. The probe is installed behind the front grille, just about center, works perfect. It likely needs tires before winter. They're not horrible or bald, but starting to squeal around corners and such, and may not do well when the weather turns.

I have attached pics from the day before I traded it, and here is a link to the dealers listing for the truck.

Sorry again for not offering it for sale first, I will keep that in mind when I upgrade again (likely 2020). I can say that their asking price is really not bad for what they gave me on the trade in. You may have a little room, but don't expect much. They are not being unreasonable with the online price for what they paid.

I forgot to mention...I've also used Gas Tracker since the day I bought it and can provide that data/info if someone wants it.

Not in the market for a truck, as I just bought mine in May, but thanks for your service as a firefighter. I'm sure a lot of people appreciate it, though they may never say so.

Still there as of this morning...they didn't take very good pics.

Again, if anyone from the community takes it and has any questions, I'm happy to answer.

How much did they give you? I'm looking at trading in my '11 and I only have 30k miles on it, blue book says $24-26k.

Sadly that truck is only 4 hours from me. My 2010 silver Taco is out of warranty, and just had 2015 Toyota sienna get a new transmission under warranty. Been looking at 2015 Tacoma for last year of Gen 2

Why did you trade it in for a 2017? Just curious if there were specific reasons? Some people switched from tacoma to 4runner for seat comfort, etc.
    Thanks

Sorry it took so long, I'm currently traveling for work.

I don't want to quote the specific price, but I will say there is a very small spread between what they paid me and what they have it listed for. Let's say it's greater than $1k, but less than $3k.

If you're still interested and it's still available, I can tell you it would be worth it. It's been babied. Not trying to talk up the dealer, but it was my truck, and I know what it's been through (which is not much at all). I would put a set of tires on it before winter, but that's it.

A few reasons. I like the new body style, I like the sunroof and heated seats, and financially it made sense for me. I had so much value in that 2015 because of how I bought it, that going up to a 2017 now made sense. The Tacoma works very well for me...chores around the house, good family vehicle, stuff with work and the fire department, etc. I wouldn't go to an SUV, wife has one already, and I don't have a need for it like I do with the pickup.
