Fishing the coast on Saturday because croaker season is upon us... I'll be chucking a bait caster until we get into them, and then I'll be throwing the fly rod. I've been trying to tie some darker "root-beer" croaker streamers for the trip:

Root Beer streamer with various "sparkle" and added UV clear cure to give it a little extra sizzle up front.

I'll follow up with a trip report if/when I get one on the fly. I'll be tying some more patterns tonight.

Completely open to suggestion if anybody has any ideas they want to throw out.

    @The Taco Bear

I know you asked to see pics of the boat, and I actually got some decent photos for you this time. Here is what I have:

Hopefully that helps you see the boat better and get an idea of what I'm running here.

If you have any questions, let me know and I'd be happy to help!

^^^^ I definitely will be reaching out to ask questions. I'm in the midst of moving so its put a hold on this project for now unfortunately... But it will definitely be completed hopefully this summer or next year. Wide range but work is crap atm.

Totally understand. I'm here and I'm happy to help you through anything you need- seriously. It's been an awesome boat, and I have learned a TON about them by doing all this. I went above and beyond what you'd have to do, so mine was a little more expensive, but we can get you one done on the lower end of the price range.

Just thought I'd share with you since you asked.

Thanks for the pics. Much better than the close up garage photos. I can get a true perspective.

Think I may pull the trigger. This along with a shirt pocket should all I need for those trips where I don't need much gear!

Go when you get a chance it's worth the drive! Just keep an eye on the weather. A storm came through last Monday nite and the rivers were to high to wade for a couple days. We talked to some shops about a float trip, but decided it wasn't worth it with the water conditions. We scouted the rivers and creeks marking locations to fish. Still caught a lot of fish, and had a few big browns break off in the fast water. I can't wait to go back!!!
I have to post some pics when I get a chance.

Fish ponds makes a real small pack it can be a chest pack or you can put it on a a wading belt. You could prolly put your arm throught the neck strap and have it off to side too. It's my go to pack for most of my fishing. I needed a bigger pack for NY, but only because I carried rain gear some trail mix, and a water bottle.

Do you know the name of it?

I'm wanting something really small - 1 large or two small fly boxes, couple leaders, 1 or 2 spools of tippet & nippers.

San Juan Vertical chest pack. That's about what I carry add some floatant and a pair of hemo's. It's 5" wide x 8" high x 3 1/2" thick. I also have the fish ponds wading belt it holds the pack great. About 4 years ago I went with the small pack it's great. I don't carry anything I don't use for the day.

Fishpond Nomad Net or Rising Aluminum Net......and go....i lost 2 fish today and two dry dropper rigs because I didn't have a net. Left early because I felt guilty losing them hooked and I think I prefer the nomad but using the rising net as a staff is cool too. +flask. I'll buy once cry once I suppose. Any thoughts?

Both planned trips were cancelled cause of high water.
