    Hey Everyone!

I'm a the proud new owner of a beat up 98 Tacoma SR5 extra cab. I want to replace the seats, because they're disgusting (torn, and one of them has one I'm pretty sure are blood clots on it). Anyway, sorry for the noob question, but all I can readily find at junk yards are seats from 2002-2003 four door Tacomas. Will those bucket seats bolt right into my beater?

    Thanks!

Is this a case of nobody knows? Or is it such a stupid question that nobody will answer? haha

They'll bolt right up. But you lose the quick slide feature of the drivers seat to get to the back of an xtra cab. If you have the front bench seats not the bucket seats youll need 4 more of the seat-to-cab bolts.

Awesome! Thanks so much for your answer. I was worried because they look drastically different to my eyes, although I haven't seen one in person yet. Do you mean that they don't fold forward? Or that the seat itself doesn't slide forward to change the position of the bucket on the rails? We can't lose that. Haha. My boyfriend and I both drive the truck. He's 6'11 (that is not a typo) I'm 5'6. Seat adjustment: crucial.

Sheesh. I'm 5'11" and the truck is on the cramped side...
No, they slide forward. And tilt towards the steering wheel. But they don't have the foot lever that allows the person riding in the back seat to be able to have access to the levers to get out of the back seat. Not sure if xtra cabs have that feature on the passenger side seat, but definitely on the drivers seat . But double cabs don't have that feature because every seat has a door to get out of.
You probably have a bench seat and the bucket seats in the newer trucks have a center console dividing the front seats. Probably why they look different.

Ah! I see. Nobody but the dogs sit in the back seat, so we're good to go.

Yeah, it's a little tight, but at his height literally *everything* is a bit tight, so it's not a huge deal. I find that I'm almost too damn short for the truck. I have to slide it all the way forward.

Ours actually does have a center console and bucket seats (not 60/40). They newer one just look like a heavier build to me, the head rest is bigger and there are pockets in the back.
