Because it is better for ride quality and handling ON road as well? Because it is not as hard on your brand new truck that you just spend gobs of cash for?

If you get a spacer that preloads the spring, then it doesn't wear your suspension parts out. Ride quality is another thing, obviously more money = better ride quality, but the ride with a spacer lift isn't much different from stock (which, given, sucks).

Depends on size of spacer too, wouldn't you agree?

He wasn't actually looking for advice, just for people to validate his poor choice in lift.

It's step #1 of becoming known as an "Askhole".

Working in the automotive industry, I am all too familiar with the askhole. Friends, family and otherwise.

@smitty99 My point is, every time someone comes with a lift question, everyone recommends going with the biggest and the best. That's not always necessary or possible for the OP. Will spending more money get you a "better" lift? Yes. Does the OP need that better lift? Probably not.

ETA: Disclaimer - OP if you but a spacer lift relying on my posts and you fuck your shit up hopping a mall curb I am not responsible.

I wasn't recommending Kings or a 6" BDS lift. This is why I suggested the Bilstein route. It's an upgrade and cost effective but certainly not "over the top" or the best.

Again....if you properly space your bump stops....there is no problemrunning a spacer lift........apparently all these people cracking struts dont know what the fuck they are doing.

As for lifts in general.....lets be fucking honest.....we all do it primarily for looks......and dont even try to argue......we all know damn well you can wheel in pretty damn well at stock ride height with factory sized wheels.

God you guys all sound like a bunch of children rambling on because someone does something differently than you.

Honestly, unless you are doing some serious wheeling, like moab.....then you dont need a full suspension upgrade.........for most of us, who do occasional wheeling, a spacer lift is just fine.....and you are not going to notice a difference between a " proper lift " and a spacer lift doing light duty wheeling.

Biggest and best was hyperbole but I think you know what I mean. Bottom line - on road, spacer lift is fine. But, we can agree to disagree. I still agree with 99% of your posts.

I get the spacer argument, but decreasing the limitations of the truck from stock just sounds wrong to me.

I wasn't looking for validation, just input and suggestions. Since the suggestions that have been said are not for me, im passing on the whole matter for now.

    askhole out.

Rough Country makes a 4 & 6 inch lift for $999 I believe. BDS has something similar as well.

Lifts really shouldn't be compared with a cost to height ratio lol

I kept my wheels, did the 6112 kit and tires - sold my stocks tires for like 400 so that offset half my new ones - i think i was about 2k all in with tires and installation. And 2k for two inches when it comes to looks isn't a great return on investment, but for the performance aspect it is - even on the street my truck corners much much better
