i put a set of 31x10.50x15 MT's on my 1998 4x4 xtra cab. the front tires rub and i'm looking at putting a 2.5 in leveling kit on the front and leaving the rear stock height. opinions/suggestions/pics of a similar set up?

I have 265/65/r18 tires on my truck (about the same size) I have a 1" leveling kit and I get no rub at full turn. I am running Fuel Hostage wheels though and they may provide a better offset to clear the fender well easier.

edit: didn't realize this was first gen.

find out where they rub. they should require very little trimming on the plastic inner fender. depending on alignment they almost shouldnt rub at all.

also. stay away from spacer lifts.

31's should not be rubbing at all - do you have aftermarket wheels? Also, stay away from spacer lifts if you can - for a cheap and effective way to level your truck, most go with bilstein 5100's onthe middle setting.

I have 265/75r16's (which are basically 31's) on mine and they don't rub.

Take a picture of your coils/upper control arm. Your coils might just be sagging, in which case you can get new coils on rockauto for fairly cheap. But if you get spacers and your coils are already sagging, all you're doing is masking the issue and reducing your travel.

Listen to everyone when they say stay away from spacer lifts. I bought my truck it already had a spacer lift on it. It rode so horrible. You felt every bump. I took off the spacers and put on all ome nitrocharger sport shocks and ome 880 coils up front (Reg cab, 4cyl). Couldn't believe the difference. MUCH better!! I got about 1.5-1.75 inches from that.

OP, you should spend some time reading an researching before you do anything.
Also...listen to those who advise against spacer lifts. They are 100% right.
