First post here jonesing to grab hold of a Tacoma myself!

Saw a man about a horse today... 2003 4x4 2.7L automatic, regular cab with a topper and installed led lights. The vehicle is in good condition, both the body and mechanically; however, it needs your typical 100,000 mile maintenance. I think I'll be able to change the fluids, spark plugs, and hoses myself, but will probably have to bring it in for a little work on the suspension. If brought into the shop for all that I'm looking at $1,500 of maintenance.

All being said I love the damn thing. It's a good looking car.

Listed on Craigslist for $9200. After taking to the shop I made an initial, cash in hand offer of $7k. What would you go up to? Any and all advice appreciated. This is my first time making an offer on a vehicle ever before.

Get that up on a lift FIRST! Lot of these trucks look good but the FRAMES are toasted. Also truck may be from another part of the country so get it checked.

Where are you located? Here in the pacific nw that truck would likely be worth list price but in most other areas of the country, that's not the case.

Check the frame for rust - and read up on here about the frame rust issues. If the frame is not in great shape, see if the previous owner has had the frame undercoating put on by Toyota and try to get the frame inspected by a dealer before purchase if that's possible.
