Hey guys. This is my brothers 2008 runner. This soft rubber piece you press on the tailgate to open the rear hatch has turned into something that resembles silly putty. Is weird. Soft and super sticky. Any idea where I could find a replacement part online?

Should be easily Google'd for the part name, then easy to reference a PN.

Not sure offhand what Toyota calls it, but they have used them for a decade or longer.

Thanks guys. Took a bit of searching for the right "search terms"... but finally found one on Amazon. You can buy just the rubber piece off-brand that comes with a little right angle screw driver. But reviewers said it can be difficult to remove all the old sticky rubber off the switch. Kind of a mess. The piece is about $20.

Or you can buy a complete OEM switch with rubber already installed for $28 (also Amazon). We went that route. Seemed like a no brainer. Reviewers recommended buying a cheap trim removal kit, as the interior panel must be removed to access the plug for the switch. I got the kit for $9.
