If anyone still has doubts...this works as expected in a 2016 Off Road w/tech package.

@gpb your idea for 12V from pin 1 works like a charm too. Reverse cam works fine. No other issues. I also managed to install the two switches in the charging cubby without removing it! I used my angle drill and went in from the top. The dremeled to size. Nice and hidden.

@erok81 Sweet, thanks for the confirmation regarding pin #1. That allows for a true plug-and-play using @jshsltr's 28-pin harness.

Nice idea using an angle drill, hadn't thought of that as in other applications I sort of like to pull the panel out and use my old/cheap drill press. Never any issues with a bit walking that way... :)

I do have a 90-degree adapter and will explore that option. Now to figure out where my step-bit is hiding. :D

After attempting to pull the whole thing out I gave out. You can see through the switch holes where you are drilling. I did with a marker first and ended up getting them perfectly inline. If you don't end up putting them there, post where you add them. I'm curious where you find a spot.

I used his harness too. No cutting anything factory. And I wish i had a step bit. One of these I'll buy one. I've said that so many times. :)

I tried this mod, but toggling the switch did not reactivate the speed sensor, and the Trac Off and Check Engine lights came on. NAV can be used while truck in motion, but won't go back to default. Removed the switch and re-spliced purple wire (pin 17), but still the speed sensor is not activated, and the Trac Off and Check Engine lights remain illuminated. Any ideas on what I did wrong?

I used a different harness, so no idea what color it is. Are you sure you used pin 17?

Istan, I am sure I used pin 17. I triple checked before I cut. Now I realized I should have used a harness...not much room to work with existing length of wire. Hard learned lesson.

I had mine in for 5 months. I push the button to have GPS anytime. I let it sit in that potion after a few minutes it sees my speed and knows where I'm at. I NEVER have to touch the switch again. I have the switch behind the dash. Can use phone and input address anytime.
