Okay so I know its been quite a while since ive posted on my build thread, i have been spending every spare moment working on my truck recently. Got the whole underside washed off, and had total chaos frame supports welded onto the front axle (spindle gussets, coil bucket gussets, and LCA cam tab gussets). At the same time, also installed TC UCAs, and Fox 2.5 C/Os and shocks with resis and DSC adjusters installed. Had the truck aligned, now its settled and probably going to go in for a second alignment soon and to have the coilovers cranked up a bit to level it out. Overall, the ride is fantastic (i have my DSCs set for High Speed: 1 all around and Low Speed: I believe 3 all around but theyre all on the same setting). Ride is absolutely planted to the ground, grip has improved significantly, control of wheel hop, or absorbing imperfections in the road is MUCH better, and there isnt a hint of 'bump steer' or anything like that, even with camber set to -1* and toe set to .5* toe OUT per side, 1* total. Also at the same time, I swapped my hellwig sway bar which bit its bushings, with a TRD sway bar out of the S runner and adapted by SOS performance for a 2016 truck and am much happier with this setup. Overall, truck sits about 2.5" higher in the rear end and 2" higher in the front, but as I said im going to have the C/Os cranked up to level it, but even with all that, there is less body roll, better ride, and MUCH improved handling. Solid upgrade for those looking for awesome on road and off road handling, not just a great ride. With the DSC adjusters you can truly have both a great ride and great handling when you want to

 

Doing some research at the moment into building some limit straps, while I wait for a set of timbren front bumpstops to come in. The way I see it, now that I've done all these suspension upgrades the next step is to protect them with proper limit straps and bumpstops. Should be a fun project to fab those up and install the front bumpstops

 

So I have been busy working on my truck lately but haven't had time to post yet! Recent mods include:
Red silicone radiator hoses,
Made new fender splash guards out of 1/4" silicone,
Painted my valve cover,
Installed dynamat and hoodliner,
TRD pro taillight housings,
Timbren front bumpstops installed,
Fixed CEL from cat removal,
Several coats of 3M professional rubberized undercoat.
Overall, couldn't be happier with where my truck is rn. Have been having a great time with this project and it's starting to really add up now if you ask me!

 

So you also got another 2016 with tundra racing lowering kit .Truck looks bad ass . Saw on another thread and clicked on your build thread and find this other bad ass truck. Confused lol...

 

Sorry for the confusion bro! I had the Tundra Racing Lowering kit, but eventually I ended up selling that to a buddy and going with a Fox lift instead. I like the look of lowered trucks but had never experienced owning one before. Mine made a lot of pretty loud loading/unloading noises over bumps and also could never get rid of several odd vibrations. After putting my lift kit on I'm much happier with the truck overall, big increases in ride quality and performance both on and off road

 

Actually if you look closely in this picture, this is after I had the fabrication done on the front end and had the lift installed, but before I did the lift in the rear

 

Just came across this build.. great looking rig! How are you liking the results of the headliner and dynamat? I am set on doing the entire inside of my truck, but hadn't though much about doing a hoodliner as well?

I am not 100% sure, since I did the hoodliner and the doors on the same day, but it seems to me that the hoodliner had something to do with quieting down my engine a bit. If you are looking into doing that, I would also HIGHLY recommend looking into some 3M undercoating spray as well! Its great for sound absorption, being that it is a rubberized paint, but is very hard to peel off so will protect the underside of your truck too! It took me 7 cans, with one being an extra for touch ups and stuff in the future and I did the underside of the truck 2 good thick coats basically. Could easily go back and do more later but it really quiets down the exhaust quite a bit, and looks great.

On to my update for today: June 7th 2017
Been busy getting some shit done on my truck finally. Got the new URD spec U full exhaust installed in the garage the other day. Its really dope, and if you haven't bought an exhaust yet and have been wondering about which one will 'do something', this is the exhaust for you:
It manages to delete the rear cats without tripping the check engine light without an O2 sim or spacers or anything. Incredible piece of engineering, this pipe.
You can also clearly see the Budbuilt weld on traction bar setup as well. Lets just say I'm a happy customer, FINALLY. Amazing product, not so much on the delivery time but win some lose some. In this case I accept the better-late-than-never approach, worth it.

Also installed All-Pro sway bar end links as well:
They are beefy as S#!T to match the hellwig sway bar up front, and gusseted spindles.
Also spent a good amount of time retuning the suspension after all the mentioned upgrades. Still working on getting everything perfect, but making big improvements.

Finally got around to a good old fashioned wash and wax too

I would like to see the routing in front of the cross member. The pic on the web site is just a stock photo of an X-runner pipe...lame.

Hey guys! So Its been a while since I've posted! Next week at some point I should be getting some new wheels and tires. Pretty stoked about it, ended up going with a relatively tall/skinny tire for the quicker steering and less strain on components, along with the fact that I will have better MPGs, less road noise, and still probably just as good of grip. Specs are:
From: 265/50-20, 20x10 wheel, 0 Offset
To: 255/85-16, 16x7 wheel, -19mm offset

Overall, the tire should sit about 1/2inch further out then my current set while leaving an additional 1.25" of clearance between the UCA and tire for running a dual shock system without rubbing everywhere. All that, while going from a 30.5 to a 33" tire! Ill post pictures as soon as I have some! Here's a picture of another member, @mikestaco17's ride which has stock steelies and spacers on the same tire setup for an idea!

 

Finally! Here is the update after going to the DIYG with my good buddy Jack to install the wheels, tires, spacers to clear the front brakes, and the rear disc brake conversion kit! Here are some shots we took at the DIYG of Gert up on the lift

How she came in that day:
After we successfully put together one of the rear brakes. It was a super PITA if anyone is considering doing this or a similar mod I can give some valuable insight into putting together drum brakes now that I did it about 10-15 times total. Every time there would be one step out of order which would warrant taking the whole thing apart and restarting!
Finally here are two shots taken as I was leaving after taking off my old fender flares and trimming a tiny bit of plastic and metal out of the wheel wells. It didn't help, still rubbed a lot but oh well I tried haha. CMC coming soon
