oh, you already meant Mountain House. They are a far cry better than standard issue MREs by a long shot. But definitely pricey; Fred Meyer's up here runs a pretty decent sale every Spring/Summer IIRC ... we always stock up then. :notsure:

Surely with your 3rd Gen money, you can spring for some freeze dried camp cuisine. :p

    :brianr: back at ya, Pal.

I liked the c-rats better than the mre's, but that's ancient history. Having said that, the new mre's are pretty good. The trick is you have to eat a little of everything. Those were designed with the infantryman in mind and have a jillion calories. They are also pretty well balanced so, if you only eat a portion, you're either going to plug up or won't stop. So, if you have a taste for them, one meal would probably suffice one avaerage 50+ forum member 2 meals with all the calories.

...but I really should get a 5 gallon bucket of Mountain House meals just for when the zombies do get their shit together and attack.

Beauteous! But was only there to service the facilities and grounds this morning. It's my Monday, back to the Grind! Lol! Yesterday was a relaxing afternoon at the beach. Thanks.

ahem... :bored: @MTgirl @johneman need tappy footy waity guy here, please.

QFT ... both c-rats better ... the whole MRE balance thing ... which made them too complicated as hunting rations for me ... IMGOBO anyway. :notsure:

... and that makes for a full bucket pretty damn fast. :puke:

:tinfoilhat: I don't have the emergency rations buckets ... but I do have a rubber maid tote full. Every Summer I pull it down, take inventory, and buy a few of whatever we're short when Freddie's runs the sale. Didn't need any this year, still have a decent assortment.

If I had google earth on this phone I could show the state lines, the nearest power terminations and it still would make you say "wtf".
