So, after finally getting the seized nut off the upper shock mount, the bolt on the bottom mount refuses to come out. The nut and washer came off easily, but now the bolt seems impossible to remove. My leaf springs were replaced during the recall, and all the hardware besides the top shock mount nut look brand new. It's odd to me that this bolt isn't installed where I could hit it with a hammer. I can't seem to get any leverage since there's so little space between the bolt and the brake. It was suggested in another thread that I pry the shock itself up a bit so the bolt could slide out more easily, but I have tried this with no luck so far.

Any ideas on how to get this bolt out?

Does it spin freely? Did you pull the shaft out of the top perch and try rotating it a bit. Got an impact wrench you could try reversing it out. Maybe use channel locks and squeeze the threaded end towards the perch while turning the bolt with a ratchet. I'm spent, GL

The bolt does not spin freely, it seems to be seized to the sleeve. I've tried several different wrenches for leverage with no luck. No matter how hard I push/pull it won't seem to break free. I have it soaked in an immense amount of PB blaster and am going to borrow an impact driver tomorrow to see if it will pull it out. If worse comes to worse I guess I'll just take the sawzaw to it and replace the bolt.

If it is seized in the bushing, heat is the only solution besides cutting it.

Looks to me like the shock has tension on the bolt. Stick a screw driver or pry bar between the mount and the outside of the eye and lift up on it some. Should take the tension off of the bolt.

I Was about applying some heat before cutting it to save the bolt, but I'd have to get a torch to do that and figure I might as well just grab a new bolt while I'm at it and just head towards cutting it

I've tried prying the shock from every which way. The top of the shock is currently removed from the upper mount and there is nothing pushing/pulling on the bolt. :(

Try a C-Clamp and a large socket over the bolt head.

An impact will give you much more torque to break it free. If you have access I'd start with that...
