Got it - guess I was thinking if it was possible to extend life on the tires but that wouldn't be worth it. Thanks

Going from an 06 to 17.. it's hard to be happy changing the oil. The 06 was the easiest oil change ever.

I found that having a library card got me free membership to the Chilton Library. Freaking awesome! Thought I would share. I printed the transmission fluid procedure.

Get the detailed information you need to tackle vehicle maintenance and repairs. Some of Chilton Library's more popular features include:
    • Maintenance and specification tables that provide the unique data you need for each specific vehicle.
    • Step-by-step service and repair procedures, and labor estimating tool to help you confidently determine your next move.
    • Vacuum diagrams to simplify troubleshooting.
    • Wiring diagrams to help explain system operation.
    • Close-up photographs and illustrations for visual support.
    • ASE test prep quizzes for the most popular certification exams
    • A print button which allows you to easily print out what is needed

Thanks for everyone who helped get the OP updated with all the new information. Seems to be updated from when I checked it out about six months ago. Had an auto a few months ago that I had for about 1.5 years, traded for the silverado that just didn't feel right. Now I'm back with a manual and looking to swapped fluids eventually to something new since I got this used.

Gasket or O rings for transmission fill and overflow, the parts numbers list on page one for 2016 year model, when I look up for 2017 says not for your truck, has this been changed for the 2017 model year?

Hey guys, I'm a new guy here and thought I would contribute something I find useful. I'm coming over from Jeep Forum, I just bought my first Tacoma and have been enjoying it so far. I'm also an engineer so i like charts and graphs and Preventative Maintenance schedules. I took the information from this thread and made it a little more useful. I am sharing it as a google folder, so you can download the files and use them if you like. It is a work in progress and i will improve it as i use it and hear you guys' opinions. Hopefully it helps a few of you. There are three main components to the system i developed:

    1) The Spreadsheet
The spreadsheet is organized into miles (increments of 5,000 miles) and main Maintenance Categories. The white boxes are for the date of service and the grey boxes require no service a that time.

    2) The Tags
If you click on the "goal mile" numbers, you can print off a little tag with the next date/mileage maintenance interval. You could keep this in your truck or on your toolbox. It is basically the same as that little sticker they give you after an oil change. The link may be 'Hidden" it will prompt you to un-hide the sheet and you should be able to see it.

    3) PM Procedure Sheets
These are a way to track each service item you complete. It is just a page of required tools, parts, torque specs, and notes. There is also a table in order to track your dates and relevant information. I'm sure these are missing some information, so please give suggestions on how to improve/make more useful!

Hope you guys find this usefull! Here is the link-

What model did u do it for? I know most stuff intertwines, but things like the rear diff are model specific and may take a different amount.

I did it for my truck which is a 2017 DCLB Offroad. I could adjust it to have the specs for different models, thanks for the idea!

Are we still on the consensus that the stock filter arrow points up. And when u install the frame filter, u put the arrow down to I dictate airflow. Just changed mine and I am a little unsure of orientation. My gut tells me the frame arrow should be down, but I have it that way and am getting some weird defrost issues since.

Can someone check & verify torque on U-bolts and post or change if needed as posted here?

On the Toyota tsb "T-SB-0171-16" for driveline vibration they have it listed as:

    NOTE
When tightening U-bolt nuts, be sure to set to the following torque:
    Torque: 60 N*m (610 kgf*cm, 44 ft*lbf)"

But at the beginning of this thread its:
    "Re-torque leaf spring u-bolts - forum recommended

    Torque spec:
    52 lb-ft (19mm)"

Also, I checked mine 5k service and they were fine with wrench set to 52ft lbs, I just rechecked at 17k later and had two loose on each side and tightened to 52ft lbs.
Toyota can be confusing or hard to understand imo in some service literature or manuals and I'm just trying to verify correct torque if anyone can verify as I maybe confused.

    Cheers!
