Newbie here. So back in Feb. I got rear ended hard in my 2016 TRD Sport which resulted in 23K worth of damages. Truck totaled. Picked up a 2017 TRD Sport in March. Got the idea of blacking out the OEM grill on this forum. Thanks to the OP for the pics and the how to. Looks way better than stock.P1.jpg

Nope. It was white. Didn't want to go with the same color as I figured it attracted inattentive drivers that like to run into white things. Liking the silver much better.

Thanks. Insurance co. did right by me, so despite all the aggravation and a sore back from a 40 mph hit, I had to fork over the sales tax $$ but I have a new truck with lots of features the old one didn't have. Can't stop checking my rearview mirror though......

I recently swapped to an SR5 grill on my Sport. The stock grill is hideous with all the chrome... yours looks good though

Sadly silver gets rear-ended too. I also drive looking out my rear-view mirrors now. I try to never stop too close to anyone so I can get out of the way if I have too.

25 years ago I had to swerve out of the way of a giant RV that about head-on-ed me. The old guy died and then about killed me. I'm still afraid of RVs.

    Wow! Close call there.
I try to leave myself an out as well, but the guy in front of me stopped really abruptly, and so did I.....I then checked my six, and hear she comes!!! Slammed me so hard she pushed me into the Jeep stopped in front of me. Luckily no one was hurt, but she gets out and asks me "how dis happen"? Really?!?!? She had no clue....never even touched her brakes.
