Nice! And my daughter told me they are remastering Shadow of the Colossus.

On another note, if you haven't found the RedBull TV app, you should check it out. Great WRC coverage, and their coverage of World Cup Downhill MTB is so much better than past iterations. Plenty of other good, free content to choose from.

The last console that I regularly played was the PS2, then life got busy and I forgot about video games after college..... I very briefly owned an Xbox 360 a few years back, just to play GTA5 when it came out, and then gave it to my sister's roommate after a few weeks.

Giving some thought to getting picking up games again, now that my wife's work schedule is more demanding and my honey-do list is getting shorter. Anyone have a quick pro/con list for the Xbox One vs PS4?

The upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2 and Battlefront 2 are very compelling....Not a big fan of online play or multiplayer games. I like a good plot that I can get into by myself. Does that make for any compelling argument for on vs the other?

The biggest difference will be franchises that only Sony or Microsoft support. If you really want Halo, you gotta go Xbox. If you really want Uncharted, you gotta go PS4. Of course these are just examples... there are more console specific series. Gameplay will have minimal differences in frame rates/resolution so i wouldn't really consider that. I'm a PS4 guy so I can only speak to their online communities but you may want to consider the Microsoft online community versus the Playstation Plus Network and how much they each cost per year. This day and age you won't go wrong with either or.

Honestly after watching E3, Im going to be getting a PS4. A ton of the Xbox One games that are up coming are being released on Windows 10 as well. Since I have a gaming PC its sort of a best of both worlds for me.

As far as which console you should choose really depends on the people that you will eventually play with or if you already have friends playing on a certain console. I know you say that you don't like multiplayer games but games such as Destiny (available on both consoles and D2 will support PC, PS4, and Xbox) you do not have to specifically play "against" each other. Games like Destiny 99% of the people playing play Co-Op. I split my time between playing Co-Op and PvP so it's the best of both worlds to me. There are very few console specific games so "most" are released on both systems. So in the end it comes back down if you do happen to play online with friends because the differences between the consoles are minimal at best. I own two PS4's. One PS4 that I bought at launch and I bought a PS4 Pro when it came out since I have a 34" Samsung Curved Ultrawide Monitor that takes full advantage of what the PS4 Pro has to offer. Xbox just announced their the Xbox One X and although there is nothing wrong with it (other than the price) what you see on screen will be negligible at best.

I will say personally for me. The Last of Us part 2 (PS4 exclusive) is a system seller "for me". But that is subjective.

I agree. And with PS Plus or Xbox Gold they cost the same. I'm willing to shell $5 per month (actually it's a little cheaper than that) for the amount of entertainment I get out of the system. So once again, it really boils down to what your friends have and you will, most likely, find yourself playing online at some time or another.

My PS4 Pro is acting up right now. For some reason when I start it up it refuses to read the disks. I suppose the optical drive is going out in it. Sucks because it's only about 6 months old. I recalibrated everything and it's working now. So I suppose I try leaving it in rest mode for the time being or even just leaving it on all the time and shutting the monitor off? It's weird that I can load one game and it works just fine but I've got 2 copies of Destiny and it refuses to read them when first installed. So there is either a corrupt file with destiny or the drive is going out. But.. it won't read other games every once in awhile either so I dunno? I "generally" only buy physical copies of games so that's kind of an issue. But so far the recalibration has worked so we'll see how long that lasts?

Hopefully the calibration keeps working for you. I only have one game on disc, but I have played Blu-Ray movies, just haven't exercised it much.

Just bought Far Cry 4 for 15.99, seems worth that much at least.

I had to put it into safe mode and once I did the recalibrate everything. "So far" it's working as normal but we'll see.

Only game that is coming out that I'm really looking forward to is Destiny 2. Much different game from all that I have seen but still the same gunplay. I'm looking forward to it. Hell, I'm even buying it for my daughter.

Dunno... but once I did it, it's working fine now.

I want to see more of the story to it, I loved Red Dead Redemption but I don't feel as excited for this as I thought I would be. I just hope there isn't a focus on online like GTA was.

I can't wait for it , even if the story / gameplay is merely on par with the original it will be awesome , plus the graphics / environment will be way better and map likely far larger

    Bring it on

Next up for me is Shadow of War though which drops on the 10th IIRC

Looks like my mission to hit Level 200 on Fallout 4 is going to stall out at Level 188 lol

I was looking forward to this game since I'm a huge Tolkien fan but after numerous reviews I think I'm going to pass on it. I really wanted this game to be better than the previous game but it seems that they changed too much. I'll wait to see what you think about it but the storyline doesn't seem to be it's strongpoint

I was a Fire Captain in the largest Fire Dept in the state. I spent the last few years as one of the only Captain's on the state's only fully staffed Haz Mat unit. Got my degrees in Chemistry and Radiological / Nuclear and retired on June 26 of this year. Due to my final average pay at the end of my career my pension is actually more than I was making when I was on the job. So... I was worth more off the job than I was on the job. I made really good money when I was on the job but now even more off the job. It was extremely hard work but I'm happy to be retired. Now I can do what I want when I want. BTW, I retired at age 47.

*EDIT* It also didn't hurt that I was heavily invested in our deferred comp so I still have a lot of money that I haven't touched out of my accounts. I'll probably start removing some when we move to Colorado in a few years. And to top it off I get a 3% cost of living increase (compounded) each year for the rest of my life.
