He just wants a cheapie that's solid. Already has everything else covered, just needs a small one so wife can do occasional chicken breast and asparagus.

But I agree with you, Weber pretty much rules all round.

He should get one of the small Weber q's then. Did I miss something though? I never saw where he said he was looking for a small cheap girl.

He wants a propane grill. I assumed you meant Weber coal.

Ah nope. While I love my Weber kettle for a charcoal grill i was referring to their propane.

I agree with @horstuff that, when I hear Weber, I immediately think of a kettle. They do make nice gassers, though.

I'm keeping my eyes open for a Weber propane on Craigslist, but I don't think I can bring myself to spend new Weber money for something that will get used so infrequently and might end up being neglected completely.

I really just need to get the wife comfortable with the chimney starter and the weed burner :).

$399 for the Weber Q 3200. The two burner Weber Spirit is the same price but having used both I believe the Q is a much better grill.

I hear ya, my wife probably wouldn't be comfortable using the chimney either. She already gives it a funny look when there's flames coming up two feet from the top.

I cook on a 22.5" Weber kettle that I picked up for $75. I built both of my smokers and have, maybe, $250 total in them. The wife isn't getting a $400 grill .

I'll keep my eyes peeled. It'd be nice to get a used score like @horstuff did, just to make sure the wife will actually use the damn thing .

Keep looking, there are deals out there to be had. Heck my gas Weber genesis was a curb side find. They threw it out and it was still under warranty...well the burners and firebox were at least.

If you find a Weber on the side of the road don't do what I did...make a deal with the wife that when it quits you can buy a new Weber. She told me I could get a Weber summit when that happens, that was 4 years ago and it was 16 years old when I found it.

    I forgot to update this.

My parents just moved in the area and bought themselves a gas grill to accompany their Weber. They got a cheaper one from Lowes. This one, actually:

    https://www.lowes.com/pd/Char-Broil...opane-Gas-Grill-with-1-Side-Burner/1000169851

Well, dad was rummaging through some second-hand store and found a Kitchenaid gas grill for stupid cheap. On top of that, it was in a 30% off section, so it was stupider cheap. Best I can tell, it retailed new for around $800-900. It was 90% assembled, still had the protective plastic on it, and in a 9.5/10 condition. NEVER USED!!! Dad picked it up for $125. I would have loved for him to pass that deal on to me, but I ended up getting their Char Broil for under $100. Their's had been used maybe a dozen times as they had just bought it, so it worked out for all of us in the end.

The wife has done burgers and chicken titties on the gas grill already and they turned out really good! For what we need it for, it'll serve us just fine.
