Anybody got a link to the connector/wire for the crank position sensor? I just need the wire with the connecting clips on each end. I can't seem to find it.

I am pretty sure when you buy the crank sensor, it comes with the pigtail connected, and you plug it in to that white plug you were mentioning on the left..

It looks like I'm going to have to pay someone to do it for me. If it were at my house I could do it myself. I wouldn't have to be in a hurry. It would probably take me half a day to do it though. Right now I'm working 65-70 hours per week and I don't have a half a day. It just bothers me to pay someone to do something I should do myself.

Definitely fix that vacuum hose, you will tax your fuel pump, and your engine will run Rich at lower RPM; because it will have full fuel pressure with no vacuum there. I would also just have them check the rest of the wiring. One other thing, I don't know if you've ever pulled out your cabin air filter, but if you haven't, check it that's where they usually go, probably full of stuff. Good luck dude, that's a rough hit..

To the stealership she goes. I found another part of the main wiring harness chewed into. I just made an insurance claim.

Good idea with the insurance claim, get them to do an entire harness, and vacuum assembly. Plus that's an act of God, so no insurance points. (Well in mass any way) Hope u get it back quick.

Thanks man. I've been putting off having the catylitic convertor replaced under recall so I'll have them do that too while it's there.

That is a sad sight, for normally reliable reg cabs.

I just got back from the stealership. I wanted to go down there and tell them to do the recall work (new catylitic converter) while it was there and also to tell them that the bolt for the crank sensor was in the cup holder and to get my sunglasses out of it.
The service guy said it wasn't in the system. The tow truck delivered it Saturday afternoon. So we went cart riding looking for it. We found it in the back forty with the keys in the ignition.
Apparently the tow truck driver just dropped it and left without telling anyone.
Then i get a call from the adjuster. He said that they were replacing the whole wiring harness, crank sensor and fuel pressure regulator vaccum hose. I told him the wiring harness didn't need replaced, it was just a hole in the conduit and no wires were chewed and that there was electrical tape Eight inches upstream anyway. Why not just cover the hole with tape?
He said he noticed that too, but since my truck was in such excellent shape and very low mileage he decided to have it all replaced anyway. He said one of the tech's said he was going to try to buy my truck off me when I pick it up. Lol, not happening. He told me to bring the deductible check to the dealer when i picked it up.
He called back Five minutes later telling me they waved the deductible. They are sending me a check for the amount and to deliver it to the dealer whenever i pick it up. I didn't even ask why.
So I've decided I'm gonna put the money for the deductible into the truck.
I already have a set of JBA UCA's for it. I've just been dreading putting them on.
So I'm going to go ahead and get top plate spacers for my 884's and a set of Dakar's for the rear. I like the rake I have now and don't want to change it much. I like the rear of the truck ever so slightly higher than the front. I figure the top plate spacers will give me a half inch more in front and the Dakar's will give me +- 3/4" more in the back, should be perfect. Then this fall I want to get 17x9 Mickey Thompson Ultra Classic 3's (Black) and 285 tires (currently 265/75).
That should do me til next year.

A couple of years ago I went on vacation for about a week and left my Sonata parked in the garage at home. When I got back I was checking under the hood one day and saw teeth marks all over the air filter housing and strut tower caps, then I got a whiff of rat piss.. so I pulled the plastic engine cover and there was dog food and rat shit everywhere under there! Apparently rats had been stealing food from my dogs automatic feeder and eating it on top of my engine . Amazingly, there was not a single wire or hose chewed, they just left their mark on the hard plastics.

Yeah. I would still rather it hadn't happened, but no money out of pocket, unless my insurance goes up (which I doubt will happen), even if it does it won't be by much. Certainly not more than $1925 which is what the adjuster estimated the damages at. Plus I get the recall done at the same time so no extra trip to the stealership.
It's kinda given me the modification bug back again. I've already spent ten grand in my head, wheels and tires, finally replacing the crap factory stereo, front and rear ARB lockers etc...... oh and I bothered to get a new password for TW finally.
So yeah, not a bad outcome for having had a squirrel try to kill my Taco.
