These little teardrops are cool to me. I just wonder if they feel claustrophobic inside and I think you'd want some AC.

Some have an A/C unit. I believe its an option you can add. I figured it would be similar to a smallish tent. Just more secure and comfortable. I wonder how it would be pulling a trailer while off-road. I imagine it would make everything harder by a lot.

We have a 5-wide Silver Shadow on the Rough Rider frame. Had it for 3 years, and just got back from Montana. It's a great trailer.

    Check out my build thread.

It's not a Little Guy but we're loving our trailer. No clostrophobic feeling here.

I designed and built a lot of it and Cross Country Teardrops out of Reidsville, NC built the body. Excellent folks at an excellent price. I gave them my design drawings so now they offer it turn key.

It's a 5x9 body with 18" storage in the back and a 20" deck up front (cooler on it). Total length is 14' with approx. 10% tongue weight.

Also ducted for AC and Heat. Power is a group 31 Northstar and a 100 watt solar setup.

That is their site. It's best to call Jamey and talk to him on the phone. He will work within your budget to get you what you want. I did a lot of the work on this camper and sourced a lot of the parts. I also gave him plans and all necessary info to recreate it.

I also overkilled the frame (kind of like when a home builder builds their own house) I will say I have less then $10k in it but I highly doubt be can recreate it for that unless you do a lot of the work and buy a lot of the parts like I did. Again he'll build anything you can dream up and their quality is top notch.

You can check my build thread in the 3rd gen build forum. Just start at the last page and go backwards.

T@G has more room and lighter, MAX XL is kingsize bed and the new overland is an offroad. Made by Littleguy/Pleasant Valley now Nucamp....

If I had to throw out a wild guess on total cost to completely recreate... I'd say around $14k but that's a total guess. You can get in a really nice off road camper from for much less though. I went 5x9 and that runs the cost up significantly due to the added materials and seams it creates. 5x8 would be less. Less doors, less windows also saves a bunch of money.

Yeah I wouldn't need something crazy. Just a basic setup with a few options would work for me. I appreciate the info!

I looked at teardrops. Then I found the Taxa Tigermoth. Love at first site. Small size like teardrop, but feels much larger with the way the doors and seating work. You can actually sit upright comfortably in the Tigermoth and enjoy it. My wife is rolling back into town with it as we speak.
