I am considering buying a set of Spidertrax for my truck , 09 Double Cab 4x4, has 3" Toy-Tec Lift, 295/55R20 Nitto Trail Grapplers on 20x9 BMF Novakanes. The wheels although they have deep lip on them have a 0 offset. The tires do not rub but are very close to the UCA. I am trying to decide if I should get the spacers or not. What the main pros vs cons would be. It is my daily driver but strictly on road, never off-road. Any input would be appreciated!

If it isn't rubbing, I would just leave it be. If it starts to run (a shiny spot of missing paint on the uca) then run a .75" bora spacer. It'll be fine as long as you keep the spacer properly torqued and check them every so often.

there is at the closest point of the UCA and tire some where the paint on the UCA has rubbed off. But I do not feel any rubbing or vibrations, rides smooth for the most part for a lifted truck on wide aggressive MT's. Do have a little steering wheel wandering but not too bad.

If you want wheel spacers it will alleviate the small amount of rubbing on the UCA however moving the wheel out so far will create new problems. Rubbing on the fenders, CMC, and more dirt/debris coming up the side of the truck by having the wheel and tire stick out so far.

I have already done some fender trimming from a previous set of wheels and tires (305/55R20) they were a little taller and a little wider (about a half inch taller and wider) than the current tires, I had 20x9 XD Spy's but don't remember the offest on them. But they def rubbed more on fender lining on full lock turns but were further away from UCA, where as current set up has less/hardly any fender lining rubbing but is darn close to the UCA. Sop just trying to decide what would be the best thing to do, I didn't know how bad/concerning it is for the tire to be that close to the UCA.

The XD wheels were most likely a -12mm offset / 4.5" back spacing so .5" more clearance than you have currently. The .75" wheel spacers @EatSleepTacos recommended would be the closest option, but they'd still stick out .25" further than your XD wheels and bring you back to rubbing like the XD's did.
As far as damage and all that, I'm honestly not sure what'll fail first: the tire being worn through or the UCA having an issue over prolonged rubbing.

I mean I have never had anyone when I have had work done to it both at Dealership and a local shop say anything about "you need to do this or that". Can I get an even smaller spacer like 1/4,1/3,1/2 inch to just get it off the UCA barely but still not effect the rubbing?

You could get a 1/4" spacer that just slips over the studs, but then you'll need extended studs which are like $5 a pop.

Good grief! I can't decide what to do! It's not really a looks thing or even performance, I just don't want to do any long-term damage.

Would going to a 285/55R20 vs the 295/55R20 help any you think? Looks like the 285's are about .4 inches shorter/narrower. But I don't think the naked eye would notice that small of a difference, but may give me some more room off the uca.

Since I can't say for sure, I wouldn't bother. You'd end up spending more money doing that than just buying some spacers. I think you should just get extended lugs in the front and some 1/4" spacers. No one would notice

    I wouldn't need 1/4 spacers on all 4 wheels?

If you want to be uniform, sure, but it doesn't really matter. 1/4" is negligible and wouldn't even be noticed.

ok I'm just super picky and like everything to match.....Would the 1/4" be a lot safer/better in the long run on my truck/suspension

It'd be the easiest solution, and you wouldn't have to do a bunch of other cutting. So I'd say yes.

Yeah, cuz the 1.25" almost seems like it would get it off the uca but start hitting inner fender and slinging rocks and crap sticking out that much further, those tires already stick out a couple inches past fender

    My wallet is empty
I posted this is another thread as well so please forgive me...

Hello all - I've searched but I can't seem to find the answer anywhere. I am putting 3rd gen sport wheels with KO2s on a 1st gen.('96) They are currently rubbing on the UCA. The plan is to add spacers but I want to use the minimum thickness possible. Any ideas? The guy at discount tire said .5 inch but that doesn't seem like enough. I can get 1.5" spacers but I don't want to ruin the wheel bearings. thoughts? Thanks!

Also - Spidertrax says that they don't make a spacer that will fit the '96. Does anyone know of a company that makes a spacer that will work?

    Thank you

Try bora. They make .75" spacers.
