While people were breaking their shit on the trail, I took my dog on a little excursion around the area. Skids and sliders are coming, so I'll be there next time.

Perazzo Meadow with the Little Truckee River flowing through it makes for a nice photo op.

Jackson Meadows Reservoir is back to capacity.

Used to camp at Bowman Lake a lot when I was a kid. Too bad there aren't any trails nearby. It's a great place.

This was a fun little obstacle on the way back to Hwy 20.

So some people decided to put some rocks in there for a ramp. Wonder if the other side is going to collapse.

I would have had to go back the way I came if it wasn't for those rocks. Hopefully, it will get repaired soon.

How was the area around Perazzo Meadow looking? Did you try to make it out to Independence Lake at all?

Looks nice. The Little Truckee looks really good. I thought about going up to Independence, but I figured there might still be snow. I tried to get to Lake of the Woods, but snow drifts prevented me from going more than about a mile. There are still some drifts and fallen trees on Jackson Meadows Rd passed Webber. Gets down to one lane in a few spots.

Got'cha. Thanks for the update, looks like Independence is at like 98" of snow pack ( https://wcc.sc.egov.usda.gov/report...EQ::value,WTEQ::delta,SNWD::value,SNWD::delta ). My buddy's got a cabin at Webber and was up that way last weekend, said the trails were alright but everynow and then you'd run into a 6-7ft snow drift.

I think I'm going to head up there this Sunday and see if I can make it to Independence. I was told they cleared the way to the "Old House" but have no idea where the hell that is?

Down like a brown clown from the other side of town my brotha!

Haha. Wife and I discussed this last night. Its just so damn nice, but has been really crowded lately. We definitely wanna seek new adventures, but we hate coming back disappointed. We had gone to Mendecino with Blake (had a great time getting white girl wasted) but it was just so hot and wasn't, well, eagles lake...lol. Did have a blast mashing down those fire roads tho. and that was on the old suspension.

I went back up to the area this spring and it was great! That little creek that barely had water was ripping now.

Cant beat that swimming hole we found tho. But yeah, fuck that area during summer. Any other time of year is awesome

Update on my hydro locked engine. Just talked to my mechanic, truck should be ready in about 10-14 days, plus break in period (@500 miles). Insurance covered it! Also found out most insurance companies will handle claims that happen off-road (USAA is one of the few companies that don't), as long as it's not involved in an illegal activity, trespassing on private property, or closed roads.

I was wondering about that. Good to hear insurance is covering it.
