Where the hell is your PFD?! :D Sorry couldn't resist LOL.

Didn't take you long to start your morning off right  I like it damn that was pretty clear and good capture. I've thought about getting one for the dog to see what a ground level perspective looks like hunting birds.

Yes they do, one was killed on a highway in Ct. and they traced the DNA to the Black Hills of SD. But normally not quite that far. Couple of years ago had a courgar kill a 100 pound Great Dane at the bottom of the ravine that I live at the top of. Then he disappeared. Big cats are like that though you almost never see them unless they want you to.

Given your location still think bear is the most likely. In the 70's couldn't even hunt them in Pa. and by the 80's had bear day much like doe day. My mother and grandmother talked about hearing cougar at night outside of Wellsboro where they lived but more than likely it was bobcat. Bobcat too pretty much disappeared like the bear. But when Dr. Gary Alt was the biologist and then commissioner of the Pa. Game Commission he changed all that around. I see bobcat on a regular basis back home in North Central Pa. and bear are now in almost every county in Pa. Unfortunately the good people of Pa. weren't ready for his ideas on deer management and he ended up retiring after the firestorm he caused with antler restriction and a few other changes.

On his way to California the corner of Mn. Iowa and Wi. the Bluffland Whitetails Association hired him as a consultant and now Mn. has antler restriction based on his recommendation. Instead I wish Mn. would have focused on the wolf impact on moose population. With the rise in Wolf population here moose have disappeared at an alarming rate.

Anytime you find moose scat you find wolf scat next to it they are never far behind any moose.

Moose scat above and wolf scat below.

Bear eat a large variety of things and the appearance of their scat can vary depending on what they have been eating IME. I'm still thinking bear. It could be cougar but the odds are really against it.
