Just bought a basically stock 2nd Gen 2006 Taco from a friend of mine. This is a rig I will and already have used to get me and my certified dogs to Search and Rescue missions.

I built a third gen 4Runner to rock crawl (37s, live axles, 3 link and leafs, dual case, lockers, supercharged, etc.) for back country trips (Dusy, Rubi etc.). It's a bit much to daily drive to training and missions.

I like the 3rd gen 4.0. The ride and handling is pretty good with helper springs in the back. Dual battery set up is nice. Basically stock and very well cared for by a friend. ~77K miles.

I will be looking through the threads for a solution to it's CEL P0420. After talking with a couple technicians and an exhaust tech, I think the Front Right Cat is not doing it's job anymore. I suspect the front O2 sensor is not doing it's job right either, leading to the early failure of the cat. So, I'll be replacing those things.

I am looking for a reasonable price source for the front right cat (seems it's a manifold one piece dealio) and front O2 sensor. Locally in CA, Bay Area, $1K is the first quote I got, which is pretty nuts IMO. I have to get CARB approved stuff. I live where I get inspected. Local shop looked for aftermarket to weld in and nothing has been approved by CARB yet.

Anyhow, good to join. Hope I can help out someone else if I see something I have solved before...
