Quick Decision: Caliraised LED or Baja Designs

Okay I can't make up my mind to stick within my budget and get a 32" bumper kits from Caliraised LED, or totally blow my budget and get a 32" onyx6 hi-power bar.
What do you guys think? Looking for honest opinions and prior experience. Is the BD really worth the price?

This is a very subjective question- more than people realize. If you will be using your lights often (I mean often like every weekend or at least every other weekend and you'll be wheeling at night a lot) where you need maximum throw and visibility, then yes, BD is a superior light that will out perform CR. Being that you asked specifically about a bumper kit, where the light will be low and obscured by the bumper, I don't imagine this is the case since it's not the optimal place for a light.
If you just want something that will get occasional use and is probably one of the best lights at that price point, then get CR.

All my lights are CR BTW.

Either way, it's your money. Spend it as you please.

 

Thanks for your input and agree that BD is the obvious choice for the everyday user. Would you agree the best place for a light like that would be the roof? Do you have any pics of your build, and possible output shots?

No build thread. It really depends on what your needs are for getting lights in the first place. The most versatile place IMO is ditch lights. The first lights I added were CR ditch lights with CBI brackets. I used nylock hardware and nylon washers between any pivot points to make sure I could move them around as necessary. Not too far out of reach to redirect them while I'm driving either.
Roof lights aren't for everyone. Depending on placement, you'll get glare on the windshield and if you're caught in dust conditions, they reflect a lot of light back at the driver and you're better off without it.
Fog lights are good as well as grill or aftermarket bumper lights because it places the lights out of your field of vision but high enough on the nose of the truck so that they throw light in the most useable area for your view.
I have CR pods as fogs and ditch lights and a 20" double row in my Pelfrey bumper. Had a roof bar, but have since removed it for the reasons mentioned above.
These are all my opinions based on my individual experience BTW, so take them with a grain of salt. Your needs may be different, but others might chime in on what setup works for them.

I had a few questions for Cali when I was looking for lights and he got back to me right away, that was good to see.

 

No doubt Baja makes probably the greatest lights on earth. Now, do I justify the cost? No. Then again, I can't even justify the cost of a Cali Raised bar. My Amazon Auxbeam bar is more than bright enough and I was able to mount it on a cali raised bracket by only making the hole slightly bigger on the bracket. Can't beat $90 for a 32" bar... Then again I am the cheapo driving a 45k truck.

Cali Raised and Baja in the same sentence?

That's like having a used condom to a new one and asking which is safer to wear on your honeymoon.

Both will technically do the job, but one will leave a bad taste in your mouth whenever you experience both and compare.

 

I know right. Fake ones all day. That is some high speed performance.
