    I never posted my "new guy" thread so as not to feel left out here goes;
    I live in Panama City, FL. I moved from Washington DC (hated it) but was born and bred in San Clemente, CA (the OC for those unfamiliar with Cali). I always bought american vehicles and was mostly into jeeps but grew tiresome of how much work I had to do on them. I finally broke down last month and bought a Tacoma via Carmax. Everyone thought I was going to miss my trade-in (1998 Mustang Cobra) but I'll tell you, I haven't looked back once. I am sure there are laws against how much I love my truck. What an engineering feat! It's the little things I love so much. My favorite item to brag about is the outlet in the back. I guess the japanese tailgate as well. I really like this site and have learned quite a bit already. TCBob, you do a wonderful job and I will buy you a beer if you are ever my way. I have noticed a cadre of Floridians here. We ought to give some thought to an annual or semi-annual Tacoma gathering. I don't know of ANY places to put this "naughty girl" to good off-road use.
    Well, hope to meet some great, fellow Tacoma owners and learn some tidbits here and there. I guess I should take some pics soon. Thanks in advance to those who will help and here's some parting advice;
    Don't lie in the road...you'll get tired.;)

    Godspeed all

    The Emerald Coast, what a place to live ! We always enjoyed camping at St. Andrews Bay State Park, and hope to get back there soon. I live just East of Birmingham, and miss being down there. What a beautiful area. Jim

    Good news. I would really enjoy a TW gathering. Hopefully we'll do a little more than hang out in a Chik-fil-a parking lot, admiring each others vehicles and standing around and pulling up our eternally sagging baggy pants while ensuring our stylish boxers (or panties Ldytaco) are exhibiting themselves oh-so-properly like all the little rice-burning teenagers do in every other suburban town in America.:cool:

    For the Mustang owners, my favorite original ponycar(Mustang,Camaro etc),was the Shelby GT 350, a wonderful sounding and very fast but uncomfortable set of wheels. From this statement you can tell how old I am.....all that for $3800.00
    The current generation of Mustangs is far nicer, faster and handles better and stops as well as it accelerates.
    Certainly Taco's are wonderful for what they do, towning, off road and hauling, as are the performance cars.
