I bought my house for 160 and it's up to 300 now so tempted to sell and go pay cash for a house out of state

 

Geez housing sucks in Santa Cruz. We would never have been able to buy here without my mother in law. 300k is a single wide mobile home for reference...

My current struggle.. .. We both like our jobs here but we NEED to buy soon as taxes are killing us especially with both the kids 18+ now. I am having major issues spending 700-1 mil on a shack and am about ready to move back up the hill where 500k gets you 5 acres, a shop and guest quarters for the kids while they do JC.

 

Yep, it's ridiculous. I didn't want to buy, but my MIL was the bank roll and wanted to get in last year because she knew it was going to get higher. Ended up spending a ton of money on a place I would consider should be 200K less than what we paid, but that's life. I'd love to be in the hills a bit and have some space and freedom, but my wife is squimish about being alone and so far away from people. Oh well.

3/2 2 story in Skypark neighborhood. Great spot for families.

Needs some TLC so won't be the most expensive house on the block and should be a good price point all considering.

If anyone is interested I'd be happy to keep you in mind when the time comes and see if I can't help steer direction when offers come in and help get someone in the door, so to speak. My parents are selling on his behalf.

Was drunk so I didn't tell anyone for a few days, didn't realize I broke a bone and delt with pain.
