How difficult was the installation and does it look clean? Any wires or cables running visible?

I'm interested in this also and if anyone has done their own install and could share details on parts needed as I would be doing my own install.
Specifically, if you can share any pics, face place adopter needed, wiring adopter for head unit, steering wheel controls where to get them or brand and cost and how it worked out.

    Thanks!
    Cheers!

You'll need these parts for keeping your steering wheel controls and backup camera

    I datalink ADS-MRR
    I datalink HRN-RR-TO2
    Metra AX-TOYUSB
You can get the bundle with the trim piece for 150$ at crutchfield

You may want to call crutchfield as they will help put a package together, forgot to mention the Metra harness so you don't cut or tap factory wires..

That is exactly the unit I've set my mind on! I don't need a CD or DVD and the fact it comes with a GPS antenna to help boost the phone is a win. I like that it has Android Auto.

By changing to this headunit do you still retain the oem headunit adjustments, ie door locks, headlight sensitivity, etc?

For guys that have this and use the adapters to maintain factory controls, can you still retain the stock bluetooth microphone? I haven't found a setup that retains microphone operation.

How much stuff do you lose in the clusters display when changing the head unit?

i have the AVIC8200NEX and it has Bluetooth and everything and more... I'm sure the Kenwood does as well. all the high end units have everything and lose nothing if you integrate correctly.

So you're using your stock microphone with this and it works properly?

oh sorry i missed the 'stock' mention. like i said I'm not on the Kenwood, rather the Pioneer, but the Bluetooth mic works, however it's not the stock one. I'm not sure if the stock mic works... someone here will.

No the stock mic won't work, but you could place the mic that comes with the Kenwood where your factory mic is ... just an idea

Did you use the whole Crutchfied Kit Like the trim ring and stuff? I know the Kenwood DMX4407s comes with it's own cage and trim ring. Thanks Again for posting this.

I got all my stuff locally, I used crutchfield for my research. The trim ring is not used in my case, will try to get that model number for you later, it doesn't need that ring.
