The state just recently started the production of a new license plate to support marine habitat preservation. Unlike most of the specialty tags in our state, this one does NOT have the pricey $80 production price. Also, out of the $25 annual fee for the tag, $20 of it goes towards the coastal resources division of the GA DNR. A vote for the design was made last year and the 1,000 minimum preorder was reached a couple of months ago so it's now official and in production. You can purchase it from your local office, but they don't stock it so it will be produced and then shipped to you. I received mine in about 10 days of purchase. Awesome redfish design with funds that go to conserving fishing resources of our beautiful state!
