Tacos on Maui

Just returned from spending three weeks on Maui. The sheer number of Tacomas was mind-boggling! All generations were represented and most were modified with lifts, wheels and tires, etc. No kidding.....it seemed like every other vehicle was a Taco. I live near Phoenix and the ratio of Tacomas to other vehicles isn't nearly so high.

Maui Tacos! (An actual restaurant)

Hawaii overall is a huge Toyota market. Lots of tacos on every island.

 

Right now...Maui Toyota has 89 brand new Tacomas on the lot.

Yup. It's almost a requirement to live here. Most of it started off as guys that were die hard Toyota guys. Trend continued and tacos and tundras are everywhere. I personally have had a first gen 4runnner. 2nd gen pickup. First gen Tacoma. Now a third gen taco.

There a ton of old Toyota pickups either low to the ground or lifted with straight fronts.

 

....sucks that servco is pretty much the end all be all for anything Toyota in Hawaii
