Does anyone know anything about old silver dollars, quarters, etc I found some in the back of a drawer in an old dresser I was throwing out and was wondering if anyone could tell me something about them other than they are high in silver content and old. Thanks for all responses.

Those are worthless. I'll give you $10 for them :D

Seriously though, nice find. Should be a nice bit of change even if they aren't rare coins.

yeah I was just going to put them away for my son, figured I didn't know they were there so they can be saved for many more years. Did not know if they were rare or not but regardless I will just pass them on to my son.

    Nice find!

I found an 1858 flying eagle nickel on a hiking trail years ago... Took it to a coin collector shop and the guy offered me $40 bucks... FOR A NICKEL!

I said no thanks and kept it... Still have it.

    This and that...
About $20 to $30 depending on year and where they were minted. Some rare ones could be in the several hundred dollar range depending on condition. What I've been told is that they are mostly worth their weight in silver which is about 90%. They are one of the more neat looking dollars, possibly make something cool with them. I'm looking at selling a few for Tacoma upgrades and use the rest in some wooden furniture as accents. There are quite a few online resources to check to see if you have any rare years and mints. Good luck.

You are correct... I haven't looked at it in forever... Its just the size of a nickel so that confused me lol

Damn.... I wonder how many times i have incorrectly called it a nickel to others haha!

I sold my share of mom's old late 1800s dollars to a coin shop in Nevada. A nice chunk of change. Earlier, sold a quarter from the late 1800s, coin shop gave me 20 for it because I cleaned it up, was worth 40 if I'd left it alone. I was happy with the 20. In the early 60s, my folks and a cousin of my mom and her husband would go up to the casinos at Lake Tahoe for the weekend. Also, for a few years we had a small grocery store and my dad kept his eyes open for silver coin and the old dollars.
