They're colored dots on the tires that are supposed help the installers. Go look at the dots, yellow should be close to the valve stem.

On 3 of the 4, the yellow dot is where the valve stem is. The 4th one is a little off.

Did you have them road forced balanced?

I don't think this tire place did the road force balancing.
But should that matter since the beads are in the tires? Isn't that supposed to balance everything out?

The red dot is supposed to be in the valve stem.

That's not what my tire guy said. Yellow is lightest stop and should be stem placement and red is high part of the tire. These are just starting points for the installers.

Your tire guy is incorrect according to what I've read and heard from others. Yellow is the light spot, but red is the high point. You use yellow unless there is also a red dot in which case you use red.

"If there is red, use it instead"

Guess I'll have to get them balanced again with the red dot where the valve stem is and see what happens

As mentioned it's really just a starting point. Your best bet is to get them road force balanced as it will make recommendations on spinning the tire on the wheel, if it's necessary.

Just ordered these in 265/70/17 SL. Anyone with this size? Just wondering how much of a hit in mpg I can expect and if there was any rubbing on stock suspension.

There going to rub like crazy. I had to remove my mud flaps and trim my fender flares at the bottom. Mpg's didn't change much.

Was more wondering for the 3rd gens. They sit a little higher than the 2nd gens and no one seems to be having rubbing issues with other brand tires of tr same size.

I have the 3rd Gen sport suspension on my truck with a 1/2 spacer up front. It would be very close without the spacer. I don't know if there is more space in the wheel wells on 3rd gens.
