    Side note: I went back to the flight physician and tried the eye chart again. I read it perfectly and got my First Class medical. Sure am glad I wasted $85 on an eye exam to tell me I don't actually need glasses. If I learned anything from this, it's not to spend all day looking at a computer screen before an eye exam! Now I have a good excuse to not do my homework :D

    I avoided glasses for YEARS by learning how to cheat the eye test... :D That's 23 years of driving, 5 years of an ATC flight physical in the Army and 12 years of Class II medicals...

    But then the wife said she wouldn't fly with me if I didn't have glasses... oh well :) :laugh:

    American grounded over 40 flights the past couple days cuz its 120 outside lol. Lots of aircraft in our hold bays and lots of unhappy passengers in our terminals here in AZ :anonymous:

    Yes. The CRJs can't go fast enough at higher temps to get airborne. Bad juju.

    All our heavy airlift flight ops in the Middle East happened at night for this reason. B-1s had to do afterburner takeoffs in high temps to get up with a full load. Note: just because it's dark don't mean it ain't hot.
