I like stock...like a lot of things about stock. But I also like cool gadgets. It's like the button that says "DON'T PUSH"

I do too. But they have to do something I'll find useful. If they do, I'm all over them. If they don't, it's spam.

You're father is a smart man, my grandfather used to tell me the same thing. I used to not listen and change suspension on all my cars and lie to myself and tell myself it drove better, handled better and got more girls. But that's exactly what I was doing. Lying! Truth is, the cars and trucks drove worse, tires wore out quicker and the only people who actually cared that I had an expensive suspension were the vendors I was buying the parts from and whose pockets I was lining. Man I wish I had all that money back. I actually got more girls with my old worn out cars and trucks too!

Let me drop some knowledge on you guys. Ready?
"Your truck, in it's stock form, will be at it's most reliable and durable."
This does not include tires, mud flaps or crap like that. Everyone knows those are like earrings or purses. Accessories.
Any mods reduce the reliability and durability of the truck.

With that said, I personally don't care what you do. Spend next month's rent for all I care. I will just smh when I see you rollin.

The truck is cool stock. But you modify it to make your own. To stand out in a crowd.

If you can afford it, why the fuck not I say.

OK, I guess a confession is in order. I have some mods, based on the above definitions. I have mud flaps. I've driven a lot of motorcycles many miles over the years, and in the rain, lifted vehicles without mud flaps were a visibility threat equal to if not greater than semi trucks. At least they have mud flaps. Then beyond visibility, there's the crap and filth thrown up at you. I consider mud flaps on the rear wheels to be a courtesy to other drivers. On the front wheels, they protect your vehicle. I have Carhartt seat covers. They are tough and protective. I can slide my ass off the seat as I get out without trashing the left side of the driver's seat. I de-badged my truck. Even then, it says "Tacoma" everywhere I look. I know what it is; I don't care if you know. I do consider all of these things to be part of making the truck my own.

Clearly OP has never been off road! I don't mod my truck to look good, I modify to make it perform better in the dirt, sand, and rocks! Sure the on-road performance will suffer, and not as reliable, faster wear and tear, blah blah blah, but we're not here to make this truck go to 300k miles on the road, we're here to tear it up in the dirt!

(Looking good is a side effect, and damn, do Tacos look good when they're done up right).

Sounds to me like a poser. I've done more time in the dirt, albeit on two wheels, than I would guess you'll ever see in your done up truck. But it looks good.
