Cody's 09 Speedway Blue Build

What up guys, figured it was time to put up a build thread for the truck.

I took ownership of my 2009 TRD Sport on September 25th 2013.


Truck is a 4.0, 4x4, 6 speed access cab and came with 64,000 miles.

 

After taking the truck home and getting it all cleaned up, looking back I had forgotten how shitty the original tires it had were.


Picked up a set of 255/75R17 BFG Mud Terrains off Craigslist. Rode with a few sets of these for years.

Moved from Houston to Chicago and the Tacoma got to see it's first snow....


God it got cold and it snowed its ass off. I picked to worst winter that they've had there in 30 years

Next upgrade was upgrading my lighting with some Hella Rallye 4000's and an N-Fab light bar.

Finally got rid of the shitty ranchos and threw on some oem bilsteins with toytec springs for a 2.5 inch lift

Then it was time to upgrade the interior and sound system a bit. Went with a pioneer double din, alpine mono amp and alpine type-s 10" sub



Still need to replace the door speakers and add a 4 channel amp.
Also put on some lamin-x over the fogs
Then came the big stuff.... rebuilt the entire front end. New ball joints, tie rods, inner and outer, 5100's on all 4, new hubs, whiteline lower bushings, stoptech slotted rotors, hawk pads, camburg uniball UCA's, and 285/70r17 Duratracs.








And my last couple mods were a pelfreybilt front bumper, rough country 20" light bar and Baja designs amber squardron sport

 

Awesome build. Can you tell a difference with the sound deadener in the doors?

Thank you, it's come along nicely. Yeah it's noticeably quieter driving down the freeway, just need to do the rear wall next.

Won't be going black rays... only gold. Telling you I've been looking for wheels for years.... that's why I get so frustrated vin doesn't do pre orders, or a waiting list, it's just a free for all. You could have missed out for months then someone goes oh those are cool I want them and you get screwed again. I just hope I get these wheels that's all I have to say

I think it's going to look great too, just don't really have any tacos with that color combo to judge
