Spiral cable, TSB or full safety recall????

My dealer said it is not a TSB and not a safety recall.

I thought it was a safety issue in that the air bag may not deploy with a bad spiral and it was for 2005 and other year trucks with unlimited mileage.

Can anyone shed some light on this for me.

Click link, enter vin # and the site should tell you if you truck has any open recalls. Only certain trucks have the clock spring recall.

 

I had mine replaced by the dealer at 96k with out question. They said is was a safety recall

 

This. If it's listed go to a different dealership.

 

I had mine replaced at 35k. Didn't even realize nothing was wrong until I go to push my horn at somebody making sure the light was really green.
